Narrative
MARIPOSA, CA – A woman in her 30s died Saturday afternoon in a wrong-way crash along the highway in south-central Mariposa County.
The accident happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Highway 49 near Ben Hur Road, which is in the southernmost outskirts of Mariposa.
Police say that a northbound vehicle entered the southbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a southbound Jeep.
The collision killed the wrong-way driver. Authorities have not yet released her identity to the public.
Medics transported several others to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
