Narrative
FRANKLIN CO., AR – Two people died Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck along the interstate in east-central Franklin County.
The incident happened around 4:57 a.m. on the westbound side of I-40 near Pleasant View Road, which is near Ozark and Cravens.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the truck driver left the roadway and crashed into a concrete pillar at the overpass.
Both the driver and passenger died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified the victims as David B. Jernigan Jr. and Loren B. Smallwood.
A full investigation is underway.
