Narrative
HOT SPRINGS, AR – A 41-year-old woman died, and a man sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the east side of Hot Springs Friday afternoon.
The incident happened around 12:46 p.m. in the 1900 block of East Grand Avenue at Middle Branch Gulpha Creek.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of an eastbound 2001 Buick Century lost control of the vehicle, causing it to hit the guardrail on one side and the bridge rail on the other. An eastbound 2016 Toyota Corolla then struck the back of the Buick, causing it to fall into Gulpha Creek below.
The passenger in the Buick, identified as Misty Rose Depew, died in the accident.
The driver of the Buick, identified as Gary D. Depew, sustained unspecified injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was not hurt in the collision.
